The kitchen is the busiest place in any household. That is where days are started, studies are done, and guests always end up. So, when it is being torn apart, the whole routine suffers from the changes immediately. Most owners get to begin the process with enthusiasm and finish it frustrated, as most likely they started picking materials without getting the basics figured out.
Founder of Designhaus Interiors (DHI), Vera Bahou-Akruk, has been advising against doing that for more than 20 years now. The secret to that is simple: take your time at the beginning.
How to Plan a Kitchen Renovation Step by Step?
If you find yourself asking what the right way to go about designing your kitchen remodel is, start from how you live, not a Pinterest board.
Determine your needs: Are you a chef who cooks daily, or do you entertain frequently? Or do you need a family gathering area?
Work on your budget: Have a little padding for the unknown that you’ll run into.
Zoning: Think about how your prep area, cooking, cleanup, and storage areas will function.
Pick your materials after you’ve nailed down the layout: Everything becomes so much easier.
Plan your timing: Know when your demolition starts, when your cabinets will arrive, and where you’ll be cooking while the work is done.
Space planning is the most important part. Even the most attractive finish cannot save a design that frustrates you daily.
Why Choose a Personal, One-to-One Kitchen Design Process?
The large companies usually have their clients move from one department to another. Vera does not operate in this way. Every project is managed by her personally. This ensures that the person who gets to know what you want is the very same person who solves the problems on location. This consistency has earned Vera a number of loyal clients. The homeowners come back after many years to get more projects done on their properties.
Custom Kitchen Design with Master Craftsmen in Holland, PA
Standardised products don’t always work well in all homes. Custom solutions are required when dealing with odd angles, outdated designs, or unique living requirements. DHI works with expert fabricators and artisans to produce unique pieces, whether custom cabinets, finishes, or window treatments. It is important to have such an approach when looking for a customised kitchen renovation service in Holland. The kitchen should speak to its users.
Who Is Vera Bahou-Akruk? Training, Awards, and Recognition
Vera graduated from Drexel University with a bachelor’s degree in interior design, and she honed her luxury interiors talents at Robb & Stucky in Florida before moving back north to start her own practice. Among her accolades are awards from the American Society of Interior Designers, which include the Presidential Citation award, the Rising Star award, and first place for Residential Green/Sustainable Design.
She has been highlighted in Design NJ for her contribution to the 2008 Cape May Show House. When considering a kitchen renovation company, there is the matter of qualifications and experience that will help you feel more secure; however, the way a designer listens should also be considered.
How Does Designhaus Interiors Solve Kitchen Renovation Challenges?
Every project encounters its problems: an unexpected structural problem, a delayed material, and a limited budget. Vera handles all of these with innovative approaches that allow for practical and budget-safe solutions. This combination of Vera’s creativity and functionality is what allows her to bring her projects to perfection.
